Under-13s progress with perfect record in Greek Youth Tournament
Brentford's Under-13s will take on Greek Super League side Panionios this afternoon in the Elite Neon Cup semi-final after progressing from Group A with a perfect record. The Bees flew to Greece earlier this week for the tournament near Athens which is in it's second year.
Paired with Doxa Drama, Anzhi Makhachkala, and Atromitos in their pool, Brentford got their campaign up and running with a 3-0 win over the Greek Football League Club on Thursday, Oliver O’ Neill, Luke Mbeta-Tabu, and Dermi Lusala getting the goals, before Matthew Dibley-Dias, Xavier Simmons, and Matthew Anderson were on target in the win over Anzhi later that afternoon.
The Bees' place in this weekend's knockout stages was confirmed on Friday with a 2-0 victory over Atromitos, O'Neill and Lusala again on target, to set up a semi-final against the Greek top division side. In the other semi-final Greek giants AEK Athens will take on Doxa Drama.
This afternoon's match will be played at 5.30pm local time (3.30pm British Summer Time). For more information on the Elite Neon Cup click here
