Catch up with the fortunes of our loan players this Easter Weekend
With the international break in full swing, Mark Smith was the only one of The Bees loanees to be in action this weekend. Top of the table Hampton and Richmond went into the Easter Weekend seven points clear of second-placed East Thurrock United but saw that lead cut to four after a 4-1 defeat at Kingstonian on Saturday. The 21-year-old goalkeeper was named captain on Saturday as former Brentford striker Pelayo Gomez put The K's ahead after 12 minutes but Borough pulled level through Moussa Diarra ten minutes later. However that was as good as it got for Alan Dowson's men as Alan Inns restored the hosts lead late in the half before Andre McCollin and Dan Bennett wrapped up the win with second-half goals.
Monday saw a return to winning ways for The Beavers as Mark kept his fifth clean sheet in nine matches in a 2-0 victory over a stubborn Leatherhead side. After a drab first-half Hampton took control after the break and deservedly went ahead as Nicke Kabamba bundled home from close range midway through the half. Mark was untested in the home goal for much of the rest of the match and the points were secured late on through Jamal Lowe's fine free-kick. Victory means Hampton remain four points clear with four games to play.
