Home and Goalkeeper shirts on sale from 3pm this afternoon
We are pleased to reveal our new 2016/17 Home, Away and Goalkeeper Kits, produced by Adidas and sponsored by 888sport.
Our new home shirt evokes memories of our first partnership with adidas in 1980 when Terry Hurlock patrolled midfield and Gary Roberts excited fans with his flair down the wing. Dean Smith’s men will now look to emulate them.
After years of under achievement in varying colours, Secretary-Manager Fred Halliday decided in 1925 that Brentford would play in red and white stripes, black shorts, and black socks. In little over ten years, The Bees were playing in the top flight of English football against Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea.
We return to black shirts for the 2016/17 season, a colour that symbolises power and dominance in world sport, from legendary Russian goalkeeper Lev Yashin to the New Zealand international rugby union XV.
A black shirt was first used by us in 2002; the last time our away colours were used regularly in this way we reached the Play-Offs. We hope to go one better this time.
