Winger added to Dean Smith's squad
Brentford have completed the signing of Emmanuel Ledesma. He has been training with the club since July and has signed on a non-contract basis, meaning he is eligible to play league and cup matches for The Bees.
Emmanuel is an attacking midfielder and well known to Head Coach Dean Smith, having played under him at Walsall on two occasions. The 28-year-old Argentinian began his career with local side Defensa y Justicia before moving to Italian side Genoa. He signed for Queens Park Rangers on loan in 2008, before similar loans spells with Salernitana and Novara.
Moving to Italian side Crotone in 2010, he made ten appearances then signed for Walsall and was an instrumental part in their successful fight against relegation from League One. After a short spell back with Defensa y Justicia, he again played for Walsall before moving to Middlesbrough in the summer of 2012, playing 56 league matches for Boro, scoring eight goals. Emmanuel spent last season with fellow Championship side Rotherham United.
Dean Smith said: “For Emmanuel to get back to fitness he needs to play games. It will be a good thing for him to remain with us and then we will make a decision before the window closes. Signing him on a non-contract basis allows him to play games for us when we need it and also allows him to get his fitness up to the required level for the Championship.”
