Update from Brentford FC medical staff on Irish international

Brentford FC Head of Medical Neil Greig has updated supporters on Alan Judge. Brentford's Irish international suffered a serious injury early in the Sky Bet Championship win over Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Neil said: "Following a fracture injury to his lower leg during Saturday's game, Alan last night (Monday) underwent successful surgery to repair the injury and will now begin the early stages of recovery. Whilst the injury is clearly significant, Alan has been placed under the care of the leading lower limb consultant in the country, whose experience in managing such injuries in unparalleled. As such, there is every confidence that we will achieve a positive outcome.

"Alan is a determined character and I have no doubt that he will commit fully to the challenge of returning fitter and stronger than before. He will continue to receive the fullest support from the outstanding group of medical and conditioning staff at BFC during what is clearly a difficult time for him and his family. It is too early to speculate on recovery timescales at this stage and we will provide further information as we are able to."
