Midfielder's loan with League Two side extended.
Brentford Development Squad midfield player Josh Laurent has extended his loan spell at Sky Bet League Two Newport County. The 20-year-old signed an initial 28-day loan last month and that has now been renewed. He will remain with the South Wales club until 14 October.
Josh made his Football League debut on August 22, playing for Newport against Leyton Orient. He has made three appearances for County, starting in a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match against Swindon Town. He has been involved in every match day squad since his move.
Josh made his professional debut last month, playing for Brentford in the Capital One Cup defeat to Oxford United. He worked with the First Team during pre-season and been part of the training camp in Portugal.
Josh joined Brentford from Queens Park Rangers in January and signed until the summer of 2016. He made 12 appearances for The Bees in the U21 Professional Development League Two South last term, scoring four goals and has played one further game this season.
