Goalkeeper selected for league XI after performances against Huddersfield Town and Ipswich Town
David Button has become the eighth Brentford player this season to be named in the Football League Team of the Week after he helped The Bees to four points in the last week.
The 26-year-old played both Brentford's matches as they beat Huddersfield Town 4-1 at Griffin Park on Tuesday before securing a fine point away at Ipswich Town on Saturday.
The Tractor Boys, who began the day one place and one point behind The Bees, took the lead through Darryl Murphy but Jonathan Douglas equalised shortly afterwards.
Both sides had chances to win it but David made a pair of fine saves, one from Richard Chaplow and one from Murphy, to ensure The Bees left Suffolk with a point.
Those two performances saw David named in the Football League Team of the Week.
The team, published on the Football League website, is drawn from the performances over the previous seven days in all three Sky Bet Football League divisions.
Seven other Bees have been named in the Football League Team of the Week this season.
Jake Bidwell was selected after setting up two goals as The Bees beat Brighton and Hove Albion 3-2 in September and Jonathan Douglas was named after scoring twice in a week, against Watford and Leeds United, at the start of October.
After The Bees beat Nottingham Forest and Millwall away in the space of three days at the start of November Andre Gray, who scored three goals in the two wins was selected, and Brentford Manager Mark Warburton was named as best boss that week.
Jota has also been named once – after scoring a spectacular goal in Brentford’s win at Cardiff City just before Christmas – while Alex Pritchard has featured twice, after helping The Bees to wins over Norwich City at the end of January and then AFC Bournemouth in February.
Jon Toral also made the Football League selection after he became the first Brentford player to score a hat-trick in over three years when found the net three times against Blackpool last month
Youngster Alfie Mawson, on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, was also named in December after scoring his first professional goal in a win at Hartlepool United.
