Match at Estadio da Nora against Sporting Clube Farense open to fans.
Brentford will be playing Portuguese side Sporting Clube Farense in a pre-season friendly next month. The Bees will be in Portugal for a pre-season training camp from 6 to 16 July and the details of a match arranged during the stay have now been confirmed.
Brentford will play Farense, from the Portuguese second tier, on Tuesday 14 July. There was an opportunity to play the game in a stadium close to the training camp venue and the Club have amended its original plan to hold the game behind closed doors and it will be open to spectators.
The match will be played at Estadio da Nora, the home of Futebol Club Ferreiras, in Ferreiras, Albufeira and will kick-off at 6pm local time. There will be no entry fee.
Farense went from Portuguese football’s top tier in 2002 to the sixth level by the start of the 2006/07 season but have now climbed back. They finished 11th in the second tier last season.
