Queens Park Rangers midfield player Josh Laurent joins Brentford on a Development Squad contractBrentford have signed Josh Laurent from Queens Park Rangers.
The midfielder, who will be 20 in May, signed this morning for an undisclosed fee and will remain at Griffin Park until June 2016.
Josh will link up with Lee Carsley’s Development Squad, whose next league game is at home to Crystal Palace on January 27.
Osa Aibangee, Brentford FC Academy Director, said: "We are delighted to have Josh here.
"Josh has played against us in the past and he is a player that we have always rated highly.
"From our point of view it is great to have got Josh on board as we feel he is a player with a bright future.
"In the short term Josh will strengthen our Development Squad but in the medium term we see him as someone who will push on towards the First Team."
Born in Leytonstone, Josh was a member of Rangers’ Under-18 and Under-21 sides that reached the Professional Development League Two Play-Off Finals in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
Josh made 16 appearances for Conference National side Braintree Town last season.
