Tyrell Miller-Rodney leaves Brentford for Boreham Wood on Youth LoanBrentford Development Squad midfield player Tyrell Miller-Rodney has joined Boreham Wood on loan.
The 20-year-old, who signed a new one-year contract last summer, linked up with the Vanarama Conference South leaders this week.
He has signed a Youth Loan and will remain with the Hertfordshire outfit until March 22.
Tyrell joined Brentford on a scholarship in 2011, came through the Youth Team ranks and signed a one-year professional deal in 2013 before extending it in the summer.
Tyrell played 11 Development Squad games in 2012/13 and made nine appearances in the Under-21 Professional Development League Two South in 2013/14, scoring twice.
The combative midfielder was an unused substitute in Brentford’s Capital One Cup defeat away at Derby County in August 2013, his first taste of First Team action, and also had a spell on loan at Maidenhead United last term.
He has played nine Under-21 league games this season, scoring once.
Boreham Wood are top of the table, eight points clear of the chasing pack but having played more games than most of those behind them.
Ose Aibangee, Brentford FC Academy Director, said: “Tyrell is a player who has a fantastic engine and great commitment; he leaves everything on the pitch in training and in matches.
“He is at an age where he needs to get more experience of playing First Team football.
“Boreham Wood have a great set-up and have showed in recent games against the First Team – both in the FA Cup and friendlies – that they can play decent football.
“Tyrell will be going in to a high-pressure environment where a lot is at stake.
“I am sure he will flourish and we will watch how he develops during this loan.”
