Brentford capture Everton striker Chris Long in January Transfer Window loan deal
Brentford have signed teenage youth international striker Chris Long from Everton on loan.
The 19-year-old has joined The Bees initially on a one-month Youth Loan.
He will join in training this morning, Tuesday January 20, and will be available for Brentford’s Sky Bet Championship game against Norwich City on Saturday.
The initial loan will end on Saturday February 21.
Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Manager, said: “We have tracked Chris’ progress from a young age.
“We are aware of his talent and we are looking forward to seeing how he benefits from the loan move and how he impacts the team’s performance.
“Chris is a young boy with enormous potential and who will add value to the group over the coming weeks.”
Chris has been on Everton’s books since he was five-years-old, working his way through The Toffees’ Academy.
He had a spell on loan at Milton Keynes Dons last year and scored on his first appearance in professional football – against Shrewsbury Town in January 2014.
Chris made his Everton debut earlier this season, when he played the final 11 minutes of a Europa League tie against FC Krasnodar as a substitute.
He has represented England at every level from Under-16 to Under-20, playing 13 games and scoring five goals.
He went to the Under-20 World Cup in 2013, playing in two of England’s three matches.
