John Swift happy at Brentford

18 December 2015

Midfielder reveals in tomorrow's matchday programme ambitions on extending loan spell.

In an exclusive interview with on loan Chelsea midfielder John Swift published in Brentford’s matchday programme – Bees Review – tomorrow against Huddersfield Town, the 20-year-old revealed he’d like to extend his stay at Griffin Park.

The loanee has enjoyed playing alongside his new team mates, most of whom are a similar age, scoring three goals in eleven matches this season.

“It definitely helps to be around other young and new players,” John said. “It is not always easy to come into a new team as a loan player. But when I came on against Derby I felt good – and when I started against Rotherham United I felt good too. So I am just pushing on from there. Hopefully I can stay until the end of the season. ”

The 20-year-old has also been reacquainted with some familiar faces in his loan spell in TW8.

“I played alongside Jack O’Connell at England youth level and he was always a consistent starter,” said John. “Jack is doing really well; he has waited patiently and has now proved himself. I know Josh McEachran from Chelsea too.”
