Right back completes move to Sky Bet Championship side
Brentford right back Moses Odubajo has left the Club to join Hull City in a £3.5m deal.
The former Leyton Orient man, who celebrated his 22nd birthday last week, leaves Griffin Park after one season.
Hull met the release clause in the England Under-20 international’s contract last week and he completed the switch to the North East today, Friday 7 August, ahead of the start of the Sky Bet Championship season tomorrow, when Brentford face Ipswich Town at Griffin Park.
Marinus Dijkhuizen, Brentford FC Head Coach, said: “I would like to wish Moses all the best with his move. I enjoyed working with him and I can see what a talented player he is.
“He will be a big loss to us, especially at this stage of pre-season. We did not want to lose him, especially to a rival team in our division.
“However, this will give a chance to another player. We have a lot of quality players and enough quality in the squad that we are ready to face Ipswich tomorrow. We will now be looking to get a replacement in to build our squad back up.”
Phil Giles, Co-Director of Football at Brentford FC, added: “Moses had a great season last year. He was brought to the Club because of his undoubted talent and he has developed over the last 12 months.
“On behalf of everyone at the Club I would like to wish Moses all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts in a Brentford shirt.”
Brentford signed Moses from Leyton Orient – where he had come through the youth ranks before turning professional in 2011 – in June 2014.
In his only season at Griffin Park he made the right back position his own, after starting further forward, and played 49 games, scoring three goals.
His form earned him international recognition and Moses won six England Under-20 caps, representing his country in the prestigious Tournoi Espoirs de Toulon – better known as the Toulon Tournament – earlier this summer.
