Sky Bet Championship match moved to Tuesday 29 September so Griffin Park pitch can be relaid
Brentford’s Sky Bet Championship match against Birmingham City will not take place next Tuesday, 18 August. The match has been postponed and will now take place on Tuesday 29 September.
The decision has been taken due to the current condition of the playing surface at Griffin Park. The Club believe the best way to ensure it is at a high standard for the rest of the 2015/16 season is to relay it as soon as possible.
Mark Devlin, Brentford FC Chief Executive, said: “With the match next Tuesday now postponed, we will not have a match at Griffin Park until we play Reading on Saturday 29 August. This will give us a clear window to relay the pitch.
“Over the past few weeks we have been working hard on the pitch. We have now decided it is best to relay it. We can use the next two weeks to replace the current pitch before the Reading match.
“All tickets issued for the match next Tuesday will be valid on 29 September and our Ticket Office staff will be able to refund anyone now unable to make the rearranged date. The Club would like to apologise to any supporter inconvenienced by the change but I hope all Bees fans understand that this is the best solution in the circumstances.
“We would like to thank Birmingham City FC and the Football League for their cooperation and understanding on this issue.”
