Brentford attacking midfield player Alex Pritchard plays for England's Under-21 side against France
Alex Pritchard started for England’s Under-21 side for the first time last night.
The 21-year-old is on loan at Griffin Park from Tottenham Hotspur for the duration of the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season.
He played the first half for England in an Under-21 friendly against France in Brest last night.
England took a 2-0 lead but were pegged back to 2-2 by half time.
Alex was substituted at half time and France scored a third late on to win the game 3-2.
It was Alex’s fourth cap to add to three he has at Under-20 level.
The friendly was build-up to the European Under-21 Championships.
England reached the finals with a Play-Off win over Croatia last month.
They will join hosts Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Serbia and Sweden in the summer tournament.
Alex made his Spurs debut on the final day of the 2013/14 season against Aston Villa, appearing as a late substitute.
Alex spent a short spell on loan at Peterborough United in 2012/13 and the whole of last season at Swindon Town.
Alex has made 17 appearances for Brentford and scored three goals.
