Brentford striker Will Grigg signs season-long loan deal at Milon Keynes Dons
Brentford striker Will Grigg has joined Sky Bet League One Milton Keynes Dons on loan for the 2014/15 season.
The striker will link up with the Buckinghamshire club immediately and stay with them for the duration of the campaign.
Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Manager, said: “We are looking at bringing a front line striker in and Will is too good to be regarded as a number two on the bench.
“It’s imperative for him at this stage of his development to get some game time, week-in, week-out.
“He’s a quality striker, when fit and well, and he needs to play games and score goals
“The move is good for him; he’s going to a good club that play the game in the same way we do - a similar formation with a lead striker - so the boxes are all ticked and it’s good for all parties.”
The 23-year-old striker joined The Bees from Walsall last summer when his contract expired.
The Northern Ireland international, who has five caps, played 36 games for Brentford last season, 34 in League One, and scored five league goals.
Will turned professional at Walsall in the summer of 2009, having made his debut as a scholar during the previous season.
He made his mark in 2010/11, playing 30 games in all competitions, and played 33 a season later.
He found his feet in 2012/13 and scored 20 goals in 45 games in all competitions, 19 in 41 League One matches.
Will has played for Northern Ireland at Under-19 and Under-21 level and made his full debut against The Netherlands in 2012.
He became the first Brentford player to make an international appearance for Northern Ireland in 60 years when he played against Russia in August 2013.
