Brentford Football Club passed through the 5,000 Season Ticket barrier at Griffin Park yesterday
Brentford supporter Louis McCubbin was presented with a special shirt on the pitch at Griffin Park earlier today after he became the 5000th Season Ticket Holder for the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season.
The Club put Season Tickets for the 2014/15 campaign on sale in early May and 4,840 supporters snapped them up at the reduced Early Bird rate.
Bees fans have continued to buy and the 5,000th was sold yesterday to Louis who has supported The Bees for more than 30 years since moving to West London from Scotland in the 1970s.
Louis, whose Season Ticket is a Senior in the New Road Stand, came down to Griffin Park this afternoon to receive a specially printed 2014/15 adidas home shirt with the number 5000 on the back.
He was presented with his shirt by Chief Executive Mark Devlin and Ticket Office staff Abdi Kater and Mads Tarrant.
Louis, who now lives in Hanwell, said that it was the welcoming nature of Brentford fans which sold him on the club when he first moved to Ealing.
"After I moved down from Scotland I spent a few years moving around watching games of football all over London," said Louis.
"Once I started coming to Brentford I saw what a good family club it was and the fans welcomed me straight away.
"I've supported Brentford for the last 30 years but this is my first Season Ticket.
"I moved down to Gloucestershire about ten years ago but moved back to Hanwell due to ill health.
"My son was ringing me all last week asking if I had got my Season Ticket yet and I kept telling him that I would get it bought.
"I went down this week and when I bought my ticket the staff in the ticket office told me that I was either the 5000th or very close to it.
"My son and grandchildren all follow Brentford home and away and when they saw the tweet saying I was the 5000th Season Ticket holder they rang me up straight away.
"They were all really excited.
"We are all looking forward to the new season and seeing how Brentford can do in The Championship."
Season Tickets are still on sale for those who want to secure their place to watch The Bees in the Sky Bet Championship.
