Brentford sign attacking midfield player Alan Judge on loan from Blackburn Rovers
Brentford have signed attacking midfield player Alan Judge on loan from Blackburn Rovers for the rest of the 2013/14 season.
The 25-year-old former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international completed the deal this afternoon.
The left-sided player will stay at Griffin Park until the end of the campaign.
Alan, born in Dublin, started his career at Blackburn Rovers and tuned professional with the Lancashire club when he was 17.
He had two loan spells at Plymouth Argyle, including the whole of the 2009/10 season, and also had a spell on loan at Notts County.
He left Rovers in January 2011, turning his loan move at County in to a permanent deal.
In three years at Meadow Lane, both on loan and after joining permanently, Alan played 112 games and scored 17 goals.
He was named Supporters’ and Players’ ‘Player of the Year’ at Notts County at the end of the 2011/12 season and was given a spot in the PFA League One Team of the Year last season.
Alan left County and moved back to Blackburn in the summer.
He has made 12 appearances for Rovers this season, 11 of them in The Sky Bet Championship, and scored once.
Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Manager, said: “Alan was an outstanding performer at Notts County last year, and thoroughly deserved his move to Blackburn Rovers, where he has continued to show excellent form.
“He is a good Championship player and is a positive addition to our squad.
“Alan offers us options, both wide and centrally, and I am sure he will add real value to the First Team squad in the weeks ahead.
“He has a good character and will add value both on and off the pitch, as I want every player to do.
“We are delighted to get someone of his quality to Brentford.”
