Brentford FC ground staff working to get Sky Bet League One match against Crawley Town on

The Brentford FC ground staff will be working around the clock to try and prepare the pitch for the Sky Bet League One match against Crawley Town tomorrow, Saturday February 8.

Heavy rain has fallen in West London recently, with more falling in the past few days, and the Griffin Park pitch is sodden.

At the moment, 11am Friday February 7, there are a few small puddles on the pitch but it is dry in TW8 and it is clearing.

It is expected that the pitch will be in a playable state by the time the sun sets this evening.

However, heavy rain is forecast overnight and through tomorrow.

Brentford FC has made contact with the Football League and suggested the match referee arrive at Griffin Park earlier than normal tomorrow.

This will enable him to assess conditions and decide if the match can take place.

Should heavy rain fall overnight, the Club will request a match official attend Griffin Park as early as possible tomorrow, Saturday, to inspect the pitch.

To clarify, if no rain falls, the Club is confident the game will go ahead but any rain before the final whistle will put the match in doubt.

Further updates will be released on all Brentford FC media channels if conditions change.
