Brentford attacking midfield player Alex Pritchard named in England Under-21 squad
Brentford’s on loan attacking midfield player Alex Pritchard has been called up to England’s Under-21 squad.
The 21-year-old is on loan at Griffin Park from Tottenham Hotspur for the duration of the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season.
He has been named in the England Under-21 squad for two UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying matches next month.
England will play Lithuania next Friday, September 5, and then Moldova on Tuesday September 9.
Both games will be away from home.
England are in Group One and have earned 22 points from their first eight games.
They are guaranteed to top the group and will earn a place in the Play-Offs, a home and away tie to decide the seven teams to join hosts Czech Republic in the finals next summer.
Alex, who has three England Under-20 caps, has been at Tottenham from a young age.
He made his Spurs debut on the final day of the 2013/14 season against Aston Villa, appearing as a late substitute.
Alex spent a short spell on loan at Peterborough United in 2012/13 and the whole of last season at Swindon Town.
He has played four games for Brentford so far this season, scoring once.
