MAWSON TO STAY AT MAIDENHEAD

30 October 2013

Development Squad defender extends Youth Loan

Development Squad central defender Alfie Mawson has extended his loan spell at Maidenhead United.

Alfie played nine games for Maidenhead – who play in the Skrill South, the new name for the Conference South – in two spells last season and joined them for a second time at the start of the month.

He signed a new Youth Loan agreement with the Berkshire club which ran out on Tuesday, October 29.

Alfie has played one game of his second loan spell so far and has now signed an extension until January 4.

Under the terms of his Youth Loan Alfie can still play for Brentford’s Development Squad when required.

Alfie, 19, is in the second year of a two-year Development Squad contract he signed last summer after excelling in Brentford’s Youth Team.
In an injury-hit 2012/13 season, Alfie played 11 games for The Bees in the Under-21 Professional Development League Two South.
He has played five games this term, scoring once.
He also made his First Team debut in the Capital One Cup tie defeat against Derby County in August.
