Young goalkeeper joins Calor League Premier Division Arlesey Town

Brentford’s teenage goalkeeper Jack Bonham has joined Calor League Premier Division Arlesey Town on a Youth Loan until the start of 2014.

The 20-year-old arrived at Griffin Park in the summer after he was released by Watford.

He had previously been on trial with The Bees and signed a two-year-contract at Griffin Park.

Jack completed his move to the Bedfordshire club this afternoon and will be available for their FA Trophy Third Round Qualifying match against Marlow tomorrow, Saturday November 16.

He will remain with Arlesey initially until January 2.

Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Sporting Director, said: “Jack is only 20 years of age.

“We know all about his strengths in terms of shot stopping and distribution.

“Jack is a young goalkeeper and now needs to go out and develop with match experience that allows him to work on his decision making.

“This loan move allows Jack to train with us during the week and then gain match experience.

“We will review how it is going in January and look to either extend it or bring him back depending on what is best for the player and the Club.”

Jack, who has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-17 level, signed a two year contract at Griffin Park.

He made his Brentford debut in a Capital One Cup win against Dagenham and Redbridge in August and has played three games for The Bees this season.
