Winger Stuart to stay with Cobblers until end of year
Brentford winger Stuart Dallas has extended his loan spell at Northampton Town for the rest of 2013.
The 22-year-old linked up with the Sky Bet League Two club at the start of last month and came on as a substitute to score on his debut against AFC Wimbledon.
During his first month with The Cobblers Stuart made six Sky Bet League Two appearances, five in the starting line-up, scoring two goals.
A deal has now been agreed to keep him at Sixfields Stadium until January 1.
Northern Ireland international Stuart joined Brentford in the summer of 2012 from IFA Premiership side Crusaders.
Stuart, who was named Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year for his performances in the 2010/11 season, joined Crusaders in 2010.
His performances in his debut season helped Crusaders finish second in the IFA Premiership and earned him the Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year honour.
Stuart represented Northern Ireland at Under-23 level against Portugal before making his full international debut as a substitute against Wales in May 2011.
He has also represented Northern Ireland at Under-21 level.
Stuart played ten games in all competitions in his first season at Griffin Park and has played five so far this term, setting up two goals in the Capital One Cup win over Dagenham and Redbridge in August.
