Tom to stay at Griffin Park for rest of season
Midfield player Tom Adeyemi has agreed a deal to remain on loan at Brentford from Norwich City for the rest of the season.
The 21-year-old joined The Bees in August from the Premier League side and has played 21 games in the first half of the season, scoring in an FA Cup with Budweiser draw against Southend United.
His initial loan expired this week but a deal has been agreed for Tom to stay at Griffin Park for the rest of the 2012/13 season.
Uwe Rösler, Brentford Manager, said: “It is fantastic that Tom has signed until the end of the season.
“He is a very important part of our squad and he has shown his quality this season.
“He is a very good professional and always strives to be better.
“Tom is the right player for us at the right time; he gives us something different to what we have in central midfield.
“I am looking forward to working with Tom and I hope he will continue to have a strong level of performance for the rest of the season.”
Mark Warburton, Brentford Sporting Director, said: “We have been very pleased with the impact Tom has made at Brentford and the way he has applied himself both on and off the pitch from the outset.
“We are delighted that Tom and Norwich City have agreed to extend the loan for the rest of the season.
“Everyone at Brentford is looking forward to seeing Tom help us continue our progress for the rest of the season.”
Tom joined Norwich as a schoolboy and turned professional at Carrow Road in 2008 when he was 17.
He was part of the Norwich squad that won the League One title in 2009/10, playing 17 games in all competitions, and spent the following season on loan at Bradford City.
Tom joined Oldham Athletic for most of the 2011/12 season and played 45 games for The Latics, including both fixtures against Brentford.
Tom spoke to Bees Player after signing the loan extension – a full video interview will be available this afternoon.
