8 August 2013

Brentford drawn away to Championship side

Brentford have been drawn to play Derby County away from home in the Capital One Cup Second Round.

The tie will be played at Derby’s Pride Park in the week commencing August 26.

Full details concerning the date and ticket arrangements will be published as soon as they are confirmed.

Brentford reached this stage by beating Dagenham and Redbridge 3-2 on Tuesday while Derby won 1-0 away to Oldham Athletic.

Brentford last played Derby in an FA Cup tie in January 2003.

Stephen Hunt scored the only goal as The Bees, who were in Division Two, knocked out Derby, who were in Division One.

The teams have met 23 times in total, Brentford winning eight and Derby ten.

The Rams finished tenth in The Championship last season and kicked off the current campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers.
