1. FC LOKOMOTIVE LEIPZIG 1 BRENTFORD 2

27 July 2012

Brentford ended their tour of Germany unbeaten after a 2-1 victory over 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig.

Two first half goals from Farid El Alagui - his first game of the tour - proved enough in a match where The Bees dominated from start to finish.
Around 100 Brentford fans made the journey to Leipzig and were in good voice throughout the match.
After a quiet opening to the half, Brentford opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.
Farid El Alagui shot from ten yards to beat Gang comfortably after being put through by Sam Saunders.
The lead didn't last long as Lokomotive equalised within two minutes from a set piece.
Stratmann's header from ten yards rifled past Richard Lee from a pin-point Wendschuch right side free-kick.
The Bees began to open up the Lokomotive back four and it was no surprise when they regained the lead on 36 minutes.
A Farid El Alagui header beat Gang from a Sam Saunders corner kick - helped on by Clayton Donaldson.
Switching ends at the break, the second half was mostly controlled by Brentford, 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig limited to long range chances.
Uwe Rösler made several changes on the hour, moving to three at the back, but Lokomotive's strikers could still not break them down and the game finished in victory for Brentford.
