Drayton Manor High School bidding for Wembley

Drayton Manor High School have the chance to get to Wembley after winning the chance to represent Brentford in the regional finals of the npower Under-13 Football League Girls six-a-side Cup competition.
With Brentford midfielder Tom Adeyemi in attendance to present the trophies, Drayton Manor beat Gumley A 5-4 on penalties in the final of the local area tournament, after a 2-2 draw, to progress to the next stage at Aldershot Town FC in early 2013.
If they can win the southern regional competition against other schools representing the southern Football League clubs, then they will face the northern final winners underneath the arch on April 7 before the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final.
Success would see them following in the footsteps of Collis Primary, who played at Wembley before this year’s npower League One Play-Off Final and were crowned as champions of the npower Kids Cup 2012.
The West London stage of the competition was run by Brentford FC Community Sports Trust and co-ordinated by former Bees player Ryan Peters, who now works for the Trust full-time.
A total of 18 teams from 14 different secondary schools across Hounslow, Ealing & Richmond took part in the competition which forms part of the Football League’s partnership with npower.
Watch out for the primary schools npower Kids Cup taking place in January 2013.
