Forshaw selected for League One XI

Adam Forshaw has received special recognition after Brentford’s 2-1 victory over fellow promotion-chasers Notts County on Saturday.

Adam scored Brentford’s equalising goal, latching on to a Marcello Trotta pass before finishing low, and then played a role in the winner as Brentford came from behind to win.

The victory was Brentford’s fourth npower League One win in a row and extended their unbeaten league run to nine, seven of which have been wins.

Adam’s role in the win earned him a spot in the League One Team of the Week, announced this afternoon.

He was named in the centre of a four-man midfield that also included Jon Taylor, of Shrewsbury Town, Eunan O’Kane, of AFC Bournemouth, and Raffaele De Vita, of Swindon Town.

Swindon had two players in the team while Tranmere Rovers and Scunthorpe United also had two in the selection.

The other two players were selected from Sheffield United and Coventry City.

Adam is the seventh player to be named in the Team of the Week this season.

Paul Hayes was named after scoring two in a draw against Hartlepool United while Simon Moore was named for his performance in the home win over Oldham Athletic and Shaleum Logan after the 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe.

Farid El Alagui has been named twice, after the wins against Colchester United and Crewe Alexandra, while Clayton Donaldson has been named three times – once after scoring a brace in the win over Crawley Town in October, also after netting two in the 5-1 win over Crewe and then last week after scoring two more in a 3-2 win over Milton Keynes Dons.

Harry Forrester was also named in the team after the win over MK Dons.
