In one of the hardest games ever faced by Brentford B, the squad lost 4-0 to Slavia Prague in Portugal. The Czech side scored twice in each half, four different scorers netting in front of our live stream audience of over 2,000.
The first goal came after 18 minutes, Slavia working the ball from back to front quickly. It started with goalkeeper Premysl Kovar knocking the ball wide to Michal Frydrych, and the fullback played a neat one-two before firing it forward for Alex Kral. The midfielder faked a shot and squared for Mick van Buren, who struck it home.
The second came just before the break and was a tough break for a Brentford side battling hard against their opponents. Luka Racic tried to change direction on the edge of the box but stepped on the ball and lost his balance. Miroslav Stoch took full advantage of the loose ball, going one-on-one with Patrik Gunnarsson and tucking it beneath the keeper.
The third came quickly after the break. Another fast counter attack had Brentford in a muddle, as Kovar started another charge. This time through the centre of the pitch, it found a way through to Lukas Masopust, and he fired it beyond Gunnarsson.
The final 10 minutes saw new signing Jaden Brissett get his first appearance for The Bees, coming on for Ali Coote in the centre of midfield.
The final Slavia goal was made by Stoch, laying a pass through to Kral. The youngster turned past Jan Zamburek and then fired low into the bottom left corner.
