Regan Graver is a commanding and composed defender, known for her reliable presence on the pitch, bringing both passion and composure to her role in the team.
Her journey in football began at the age of 8, playing for Hampstead Girls Football Club before moving to Kinja FC, a startup girls' team, at 10. After progressing through Kinja and Camden Women’s FC, she joined Brentford at 18, where she has now established herself as a key player, entering her sixth season with the club.
Off the pitch, Regan works for the Medical Defence Union, balancing her career in football with a professional role in the medical field. She also holds a degree in psychology, which has helped her remain calm in high-pressure situations—both on the pitch and in her daily work. Football, in turn, has enhanced her communication skills and competitiveness, attributes that she carries into her professional life.
One of Regan’s proudest career moments came last season when Brentford achieved a double, winning two trophies in one year—a feat the team had not accomplished in many years. Reflecting on her time at Brentford, she recalls her most memorable moment as playing in front of over 5,000 fans at the Gtech Stadium, a day she describes as one of the proudest in her entire football career.
This season, Regan has set personal goals to keep as many clean sheets as possible and help Brentford become the team that concedes the fewest goals. On a team level, her focus is clear: securing promotion. Her commitment to defensive solidity and leadership makes her a key player in Brentford’s ambitions.
For young girls aspiring to play football, Regan’s advice is both empowering and insightful: “Don’t let the fear of making mistakes hold you back. Go into every game with your shoulders back and your head held high.” She emphasises the importance of self-belief and resilience in the face of challenges.
Looking ahead, Regan envisions a bright future for women’s football, both at Brentford and on a global scale. She believes women’s football has the potential to grow even larger than the men’s game, with Brentford Women’s teams progressing up the leagues until the First Team reaches the Women’s Super League (WSL). As a key part of the Brentford defence, Regan aims to play a pivotal role in this journey, ensuring that the club continues to progress and inspire the next generation of players.
