Mollie Holmes has been a key player for Brentford FC Women’s First Team, bringing a calm, technical, and vocal presence to the pitch.
Starting her football journey at Hampton Manor at just 8 years old, Mollie honed her skills through the Middlesex Centre of Excellence, where she thrived, winning the Players' Player award twice and earning a Middlesex cap. Her progression led her to QPR before joining Brentford at age 17, where she has been a loyal and pivotal figure for over a decade.
Off the pitch, Mollie’s role as a finance business partner and a children’s football coach exemplifies her commitment to inspiring the next generation. She believes coaching has enhanced her understanding of the game, focusing on technical elements that help both her and her young players grow. Football has equally impacted her career, giving her newfound confidence that transcends her day-to-day life.
Her proudest moments include captaining the team at the Gtech Stadium and securing a double cup victory at the end of the 2023/24 season – her first honours with the club. Mollie’s dedication to Brentford shines through her ten-year tenure, which she attributes to the close-knit relationships she has formed with her teammates.
Looking to the future, Mollie’s goal is simple yet ambitious: to help secure promotion this season and contribute as much as possible to the team’s success. As a role model for young girls aspiring to play football, her advice is to push beyond their comfort zones and play as much as they can. She envisions a future where women's football continues to grow, with greater accessibility and opportunities for young girls to get involved at all levels, and hopes to play a part in that journey both on and off the pitch.
