Marcus Gayle has been a Brentford FC Ambassador since January 2020. During a professional career that spanned 20 years, he was on the books at Griffin Park for two spells.

Growing up in Hammersmith, Marcus began his football career with Brentford as a striker. A short loan spell in Finland was followed by a stint in the First Team. He would go on to make over 150 appearances for The Bees, helping secure the 1992 Third Division title.

He made a real name for himself during his next move to Wimbledon, part of the generation known as 'The Crazy Gang'. During this spell, he made his debut for Jamaica, who he would go on to represent at the 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States and the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He retired from international football as the captain of the team.

One season in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers was followed with a move to Watford. He spent three years at Vicarage Road before moving back to Brentford. Two seasons later, he was at Aldershot in the Conference Premier. His final pro season was spent at AFC Wimbledon in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

His retirement from football came as The Dons secured promotion to the Conference South in 2008. He had a few coaching roles at Wimbledon and later at Staines Town as Head Coach.

He has been working alongside Kick It Out for long periods since his retirement and also has leadership qualifications from the PFA.

He is now a part of the presenting team that appear on Brentford FC's weekly YouTube show The Warm-Up, alongside fellow former pro Karleigh Osborne and presenter Stu Wakeford. He also appears as a pundit on Sky Sports during their coverage of Brentford Men's games.
