Goalkeeper Julian Eyestone made the move to west London in June 2024 following time spent at Duke University and FC Dallas Academy.
The athletic shot-stopper was born and raised in Dallas, with sport, especially football, playing a huge part in his life from an early age.
His father Peter’s love of the game saw Eyestone with a ball at his feet as soon as he could walk.
“Ever since I could walk, I was basically kicking a ball around because my dad was part of that trailblazer generation, nobody played soccer in America but my dad,” said Eyestone.
As a youngster, Eyestone played for a local Dallas club, Solar. He left to join FC Dallas Academy when he was 11, where he stayed until he was 17.
At that point Duke came calling, Eyestone leaving high school a year early to join the prestigious sporting school.
“I had the best coaches, I had the best teammates, I had such a great experience. They put the reins in my hands, they said, ‘We know you’re 17 but we want you to come and we believe in you’ - that was all I needed to hear,” explained Eyestone.
Following a season where he earned a spot on the Atlantic Coast Conference freshman team and the All-Atlantic Coast Conference second team, Brentford was next on Eyestone’s footballing journey.
The then 18-year-old signed a multi-year deal to join Brentford B, where he established himself as a starter in the young Bees’ line-up across the 2024/25 season.
Eyestone’s first season saw him start in 16 Under-21 Professional Development League games, six cup fixtures and three tour games for Brentford B. This included the Premier League Cup final against QPR and a PDL play-off semi-final victory over Sheffield United, where he made several key saves to ensure the 2-1 win in extra-time.
Eyestone impressed across the campaign, keeping seven clean sheets and was rewarded with promotion to the first team in the summer of 2025.
The goalkeeper was no stranger to the first team, having trained regularly with the group across the 2024/25 season, while also featuring in matchday squads during the Premier League season.
“It was fantastic, learning so much every single day was such a benefit, I feel like the person I was when I walked through the door at the start of that first season to now, I’ve learned and I’ve developed as a person and a player a lot,” explained Eyestone.
