With league experience in six countries, Champions League appearances and 13 caps for his native Finland, Jani brings a lot to his role of B Team goalkeeper coach.

After a varied playing career that stretched from HJK Helsinki to Bolton Wanderers, he hung up his boots in 2010, opting to take up coaching in his favoured position between the sticks. In 2012, he found his way to England as Norwich City's Academy goalkeeping coach before heading to Griffin Park two years later.

Jani's first footballing memory was the 1982 World Cup in Spain. The proudest moment in his career was playing three games in the Champions League. His favourite football shirt is Brentford's. His favourite B Team memory was the Atlantic Cup win against Brondby. He says that the best thing about working at Brentford is working with great people.

Off the field, Jani enjoys watching Last Dance and Top Gun, the original. His favourite song is We Are The Champions by Queen. Jani also played ice hockey growing up.

Looking back, if he could give himself one piece of advice when he started his career, he would say concentrate on things you can control. For someone looking to get into a similar role to him, he would off the following advice; be yourself!
