Emily Maving is a fearless and dynamic goalkeeper known for her bravery and skill between the posts.

Her football journey began in 2013 at Letchworth, where she developed her craft for nearly a decade before moving on to Cambridge City 23s in 2022. After a successful loan spell at AFC Dunstable during the 2023-2024 season, Emily joined Brentford in 2024, eager to make her mark at the club.

Off the field, Emily is pursuing an apprenticeship in multi-trade at a housing company. The discipline and commitment required in her job translate seamlessly to her football career, where she demonstrates the same resilience and hard work that are essential both in construction and goalkeeping. When not honing her football skills, Emily enjoys playing golf and boxing, both of which keep her sharp and competitive.

Emily takes immense pride in her ability to pull off diving saves and smother shots under pressure, moments she cherishes as the hallmark of her goalkeeping style. Her time at Brentford has been marked by a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with the coaches providing high-level training that challenges her to continually improve her game.

This season, Emily's personal goal is to show her best ability and build her confidence, climbing the ranks and refining her skills as she aims to reach the top. She believes strongly in the future of women’s football, envisioning rapid growth and greater involvement from younger girls. As a role model, Emily hopes to inspire the next generation by encouraging them to start playing earlier and to never give up, no matter what obstacles they face.

Her advice to young aspiring footballers is simple but powerful: “Never give up when someone tells you that you aren’t good enough.” With her resilience and determination, Emily is committed to playing a pivotal role in both Brentford's success and the continued rise of the women’s game.
