Conor McManus is a talented and driven midfielder who joined Brentford’s B Team after making waves in Irish football.

His journey began at just four years old with Cabinteely FC, where he developed a passion for the game that would take him through the youth ranks of Irish football. Conor competed in the League of Ireland U15s and U17s before progressing to Bray Wanderers' U19 side, making his first-team debut at the age of 17. In the summer of 2023, Conor signed for Brentford, bringing his hard-working and aggressive playing style to West London.

Known for his communication and tireless work rate, Conor’s teammates would describe him as a relentless competitor, always striving to give his best for the team. He also enjoys the fun side of football, selecting Casillas, Ramos, Iniesta, Messi, and Ronaldo for his dream five-a-side team. Before matches, Conor gets into the zone with house and rap music, but when it comes to his initiation song, he belts out Don’t Stop Believin' by Journey.

Conor’s proudest moment came when he played for Brentford against his former club, Bray Wanderers, in front of his family and friends at the Carlisle Ground. Another highlight was stepping out in front of 40,000 fans during Brentford’s pre-season match against Benfica—an experience that he describes as surreal.

Reflecting on his time at Brentford, Conor speaks highly of his experiences training alongside the first team at the Robert Rowan Performance Centre. The opportunity to learn from senior players has refined his tactical awareness and highlighted the importance of mastering the simple things. Conor has set his sights on breaking into the first team this season, and he’s also aiming for a call-up to the Irish national team.

With a willingness to defend and work for the team, Conor believes he can offer Brentford his determination and commitment for years to come. Influenced by former Bray Wanderers head of football Pat Devlin and his coach Paul Downer, Conor has developed into a player capable of contributing both on and off the ball. His journey is just beginning, but Conor McManus is already proving he has what it takes to be a key figure in the future of Brentford FC.
