Carly Williams was appointed Brentford Women head coach in August 2025, following the Bees' promotion to tier five of the women's pyramid for the first time in club history.

Taking over from Karleigh Osborne, Williams joined the west Londoners having spent a decade in a variety of coaching roles at Arsenal, including two years as player care lead for the club’s women’s academy team.

She was also part of the FA Coaching Excellence Initiative (CEI) and an elite coach mentee with the England U17s women's team.

In her first campaign with Brentford, Williams led her side to 10 wins in a row in all competitions to begin her tenure, with the Bees eventually finishing third in the 2025/26 London and South East Premier Division.

Whilst working for Brentford, Williams was honoured as part of the 2025 Football Black List, an award that celebrates influential Black figures and positive role models across British football.

Through her coaching and expertise within player care, Williams has played a pivotal role in shaping the women’s game, building on a career dedicated to expanding access and inspiring more women to get involved in football.

On her appointment ahead of the 2025/26 season, women's football consultant Lois Fidler said: “Carly is a perfect fit for a club with big ambitions and truly embodies the values that make Brentford such a special place to work. We are excited to see her lead this next chapter for Brentford Women.

“Carly brings an understanding of the level we are currently at, having previously played, and she has almost 10 years’ experience in elite environments supporting the on and off-pitch development of some of England's brightest young players."
