Thomas Frank stressed the need to ‘cherish these moments’ following Brentford’s late equaliser against Crystal Palace.

The Bees’ unbeaten run in the Premier League was under threat after Eberechi Eze headed Michael Olise’s cross beyond David Raya on 69 minutes, but the Bees kept pushing and levelled right at the death through substitute Vitaly Janelt.

“Here at the Gtech, it’s very, very difficult to beat us,” Frank began.

“Big praise to the fans, who pushed us forward towards the end.

“I’m so pleased that we got a well-deserved equaliser, and a well-deserved point.

“This group of players’ energy, spirit and mentality is remarkable. Remarkable.

“We need to cherish these moments, because they’re special. In football, you can take nothing for granted.

“But the performance overall, we could have done better. I’m disappointed with the performance, but this is the Premier League. We still gave very little away.

“We gave the goal away, and the chance after, which is not much in a Premier League game.

“If you can’t win, don’t lose. We are 11 games unbeaten.”

Thomas Frank and Vitaly Janelt, Brentford v Crystal Palace

Frank expanded on what he felt side could have done better against Palace.

“Offensively we could have taken less touches and picked up better positions,” he said.

“We could have made better decisions throughout the game.”

The Bees boss was satisfied with his substitutes' impact and revealed that he and his staff have plans in place for a variety of in-game scenarios.

“In general, I pre-plan them,” he said.

“We have a plan B where we’re behind and need to go offensive.

“Vitaly was the outside left centre-back and could whip the passes in and the early crosses. I loved that he went all the way into the box.

“Shandon [Baptiste] got the fewest minutes but did well.

“I was pleased with Kevin [Schade]’s running and how he arrived in the box.

“Keane [Lewis-Potter] was positive and went at people.

“[Mikkel] Damsgaard was very positive as well. He’s been working very hard and he just needs to continue. He’s in a good place.”
