Thomas Frank admitted Nottingham Forest’s late equaliser was ‘tough to take’, but added that he is ‘proud’ of his team after the 2-2 draw at the City Ground.

A Zanka own goal saw the hosts level the game in stoppage time, but the Bees boss said he is happy with his side, who are having to cope with a plethora of injuries.

“It’s a tough game this game. There are so many emotions in it and a rollercoaster of situations throughout,” Frank said.

“The emotion I'm standing back with is proud, actually, of the boys. We are a little bit down to the bare bones of missing key players: Pontus [Jansson], [Christian] Norgaard, Ivan [Toney], Kristoffer Ajer, Aaron Hickey. All the others are stepping up.

“We go to this difficult away ground, we go down 1-0, come back, and then turn it around to 2-1. Our second half was perfect, except for the last six minutes, where we lose the win in literally the last kick of the game.

“That is tough to take but I'm still very proud.”

Frank added: “I was very, very impressed with what we did [in the second half], I must say, very pleased. That second half is how we should do things.”

Yoane Wissa won the penalty for the Bees’ opening goal, which Bryan Mbeumo duly converted, before the DR Congo international scored our second of the afternoon in Nottingham.

And Frank praised the forward's performance, as well as midfielder Mathias Jensen's superb pass for Wissa's second-half strike.

The Bees boss said: “I think Wissa, in general, played well. He got a penalty and scored a good goal. In many ways, he was good.”

When asked about Jensen's assist, he added: "A great ball, I really liked that. I think we struggled to find that ball in behind, but we found it on that occasion.”
