Brentford head coach Thomas Frank was delighted with his side's 'remarkable' performance and result against Chelsea - which saw the Bees win back-to-back games at Stamford Bridge.

Brentford secured a 2-0 win against the Blues thanks to goals either side of half-time, and Frank believes it was a 'well-deserved' victory in west London.

“I’m very pleased in many ways," he began. "I think it's remarkable that we’ve won here again - I don't know how many teams have done that over the last two seasons, won here twice. That in itself is very impressive.

“I think the performance was very good. I think it was a good away performance against Chelsea and I think we won deservedly.

“In the first half, we were very aggressive in the high pressure, we went after them, we were winning the ball back, and we were good on set-pieces.

“We were calm-ish - I think we could’ve still been a bit calmer on the ball in spells.

“In the second half, they had a spell of 10/15 minutes where they were a little bit more on than us, but we defended with our lives fantastically and we got through that.

“We made some changes, got some fresh legs on, adjusted a few things and, after that, I thought we were on top.”

Over the last few games, Frank has discussed the ‘fine margins’ going against his side. He was happy that, finally, his side could make use of some good luck.

Zanka’s opener eventually came off Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta, and Bryan Mbeumo’s finish took a small deflection off Thiago Silva, which helped it past Kepa and into the Chelsea net.

Frank explained: “I think the two goals had a tiny bit of a deflection that went our way. That’s the margins in football that didn't go our way against Wolves, for example.

“Today, we're all a little bit more happy and it's good, but we need to remind ourselves that the last five/six games were good in many aspects.

“I think two or three of them were better performances than tonight, in my opinion, but we didn't win that because that’s football.

“But what we do very well is that we are consistent, we try to do the same performance and try to perform well; if we do that then over time it will turn around.”
