Brentford head coach Thomas Frank admitted that his side weren't at their best against Nottingham Forest - but the consistency the Bees have shown in recent weeks underpinned their 2-1 win.

Two late goals courtesy of Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva in stoppage-time secured all three points for the west Londoners.

While Frank said that Brentford played an 'average game', he was delighted with the result and the scenes that ensued at the Gtech Community Stadium after Dasilva's late winner.

When asked about his thoughts on Saturday's game, he replied: "We played a bad game - football is crazy in many ways!

“We had one of our best performances against [Aston] Villa last week and the feeling afterwards was like a defeat.

“We played an average game, at most, today and the feeling with the late winner and the Gtech going wild is amazing.

“I’ll try to get my head around it but, of course, right now it feels good. Tomorrow, I'll be a little bit irritated that we didn't play better.

“I think it's important to remind all of us about the last eight games: the last two wins and then the six games where we didn't win. Most likely, the last two performances, the wins, would rank probably seventh and eighth, compared to the six before.

“But the thing is, we are performing in a bracket where we are performing consistently. Sometimes you hit the top level, like against Villa, and sometimes you hit an average level like today. So the big word is consistency.

“And we have a squad of players who are very willing to work hard for each other - today I subbed five players on that all made the difference.

“Especially Josh Dasilva, I’m so pleased with that because there's been a little tricky spell for him over the last few weeks where he's been searching for his top form, but we know that he can produce top moments like this.”
