New Brentford signing Gustavo Nunes stated that it's a "dream" to join the Bees and move to the Premier League, after he completed his transfer to the west Londoners from Brazilian top-flight side Grêmio.

The 18-year-old was wanted by a number of other clubs, and he revealed why he chose to join Brentford, with head coach Thomas Frank one of the factors that persuaded him to move to Gtech Community Stadium.

Nunes said: "I am really looking forward to playing in the Premier League. It has always been my dream to play in this league, so I have the pleasure of joining this competition.

"Brentford was the first club to make an offer. I had a really good conversation with representatives and it was the club I chose. It is an incredible feeling. I am glad to be here at such a huge club.

"Thomas Frank is a manager who will help me improve a lot; he will help me do a good job and grow.

"Brentford fans can expect to see a lot of one one-on-one dribbling, speed and goals!

"I want to thank all of the supporters for the warm welcome and I hope to see you soon, scoring goals and bringing happiness to you."

Nunes discussed his move from Brazil, where he came through the ranks at Grêmio, and how compatriot and fellow new signing Igor Thiago can help him settle in at the club.

"I was very well welcomed at Grêmio since day one. I managed to grow a lot and move up to the professional team," he explained.

"Everything happened so fast: I was in the academy, then I moved up to the first team, and I started finding my space in the team.

"I am really happy that I have accomplished all of this, and that I am now at this huge club, which Brentford is."

On Thiago, he added: "It will be very important to me to have another Brazilian in the squad, someone who speaks my language.

"Let’s get to work now and I can't wait to play alongside him!"
