Kolbeinn Finnsson helped ĺþróttafélagið Fylkir to a second league win of the season last weekend. Fylkir trailed Handknattleiksfélag Kópavogs at half time but scored twice in the final 15 minutes to take an away win. It was their first win since the opening day of the season and added to an Icelandic cup victory last week.
Kolbeinn is spending the summer on loan with the Icelandic side, where he started his career. The Brentford B midfield player has now played seven games for Fylkir and completed the full 90 minutes. Fylkir are now seventh in the table and are in the last eight of the cup, where they will play Breiðablik later this month.
The Icelandic league will now take a break this week while international games are played. Kolbeinn – along with Brentford B goalkeeper Patrik Gunnarsson – is in the Under-21 squad. Iceland Under-21 take on a Denmark Under-20 squad that includes two more Brentford players – Mads Bech Sørensen and Luka Racic – on Friday, 7 June.
