Brentford’s Will Grigg, currently on loan at MK Dons, has been named in the Football League Team of the Week.

The 23-year-old joined MK Dons at the start of the season and had 15 goals to his name in 43 appearances before the weekend.

The Northern-Irish striker added another four goals to his tally over the Easter weekend as MK picked up maximum points to stay in contention for Sky Bet League One automatic promotion.

Will scored twice in the final 15 minutes on Friday as MK secured a vital three points away at promotion rivals Swindon Town with a 3-0 victory.

The striker was back on the goalscoring trail last night as he scored another brace in a 2-0 win over Scunthorpe United at Stadium:MK.

Will netted after two minutes and then added a second from the penalty spot three minutes later to leave MK five points off second spot and take his personal total to 19 goals this season.

The team, published on the Football League website, is drawn from the performances over the previous seven days in all three Sky Bet Football League divisions.

Will is the eleventh Bee to make the selection this season.

Jake Bidwell was picked after setting up two goals as The Bees beat Brighton and Hove Albion 3-2 in September and Jonathan Douglas was named after scoring twice in a week, against Watford and Leeds United, at the start of October.

After The Bees beat Nottingham Forest and Millwall away in the space of three days at the start of November Andre Gray, who scored three goals in the two wins was selected, and Brentford Manager Mark Warburton was named as best boss that week.

Jota has also been named once – after scoring a spectacular goal in Brentford’s win at Cardiff City just before Christmas – while Alex Pritchard has featured twice, after helping The Bees to wins over Norwich City at the end of January and then AFC Bournemouth last month.

Jon Toral was selected after hitting a hat-trick in Brentford’s win over Blackpool last month and David Button was named in last week's team as Brentford beat Huddersfield Town at home and drew with Ipswich Town.

Youngster Alfie Mawson, also on loan at Wycombe, was also named in December after scoring his first professional goal in a win at Hartlepool United while Nico Yennaris, also on loan at Wycombe, was named after he set up Wycombe's only goal in a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town last month.
