There’s another reason to come together and back The Bees, as we’ll be donating all the iFollow income from the Wycombe game to help pay for Jamie Powell’s vital treatment at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston (USA).

If you’re unfamiliar with his story, Jamie is 41 years old and lives in Ashford, Middlesex with his wife, Carly. They’ve been married for seven years and have two boys Jackson (9) and Frankie (6).

Jamie is a lifelong Bees fan and season ticket holder. He has rarely missed a match and has passed this passion on to his two boys who join him on matchdays.

Jamie, Carly, Jackson and Frankie’s lives were turned upside down this year when Jamie was heartbreakingly diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (a rare and aggressive bone cancer) of the skull.

Massachusetts General Hospital have confirmed they can treat Jamie with Proton Beam Therapy. The amazing doctors in Boston have given Jamie a chance, offering him a longer prognosis and ultimately the possibility of curing him of this terrible disease.

Jamie’s treatment will cost a considerable amount of money as it will need to be paid for privately. Many Brentford fans and indeed football fans from other Clubs have already donated to this worthwhile cause on Jamie’s JustGiving page, and we’re looking to do our bit to help Jamie and his family reach their fundraising goal. Watch The Bees #ForJamie this weekend, with 100 per cent of income from iFollow being donated to Jamie’s treatment.
