Brentford were in Futsal action against Southend United last week.

Luis Melville updates on the match last Wednesday, April 29.

Brentford looked comfortable from the start but some careless play allowed a shot from Southend's Tyler Maloney from just inside the Bees half to get past three players and beat keeper Charlie Rose.

However, The Bees were stung into an immediate reply as Azhan Iqbal scored after some smart one touch play brought them level.

Alfie Hipwell put Brentford into the lead after five minutes from a free kick 12 metres out, which bamboozled the Shrimpers keeper.

Humzah Karim made it 3-1 after seven minutes and from there on in it was the West Londoners who took complete control of the game.

The rotational movement from the scholars caused Southend’s defence to be constantly out of shape.

Harman Sandhu, later named Man of The Match, scored five minutes prior to the interval from close range.

Brentford did not relax and two minutes after the restart Harman Sandhu scored his second of the game a mid-court pass was intercepted and some more incisive one touch play saw the Sandhu score at the second post.

Frankie Finn notched his 13th goal of the season three minutes later with Azhan Iqbal completing the scoring with ten minutes to go.

The win means The Bees will finish in the top half of the table and with only one game to go against Norwich City will look to finish on a high.

The Bees played Southend United ‘B’ in a friendly afterwards and won 11-0.
