Wigan Athletic have approached Brentford Football Club to speak to Manager Uwe Rösler concerning their managerial vacancy.
The Club had an approach this afternoon and, reluctantly, permission has been granted.
Wigan have agreed to meet the compensation figure in Uwe’s contract and will be able to speak to him.
The Sky Bet Championship club have a vacancy after sacking Owen Coyle earlier this week.
Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Sporting Director, said: “As I said at a recent Fans’ Forum, clubs approaching us to speak to staff is a sign of how well we are doing.
“No-one wants Uwe to leave Brentford FC but it is right that we allow him to speak to Wigan and I encourage him to do so.
“Uwe will decide if he wants to speak to them and we will be in constant dialogue with him.
“The team are prepared for the FA Cup with Budweiser tie against Carlisle United on Saturday and there are plans in place for both the short and medium term if Uwe does decide to move on.”
