The Emirates FA Cup took centre-stage for our loan players in the lower leagues this weekend.

Arthur Read played the full 120 minutes as Stevenage avoided a cup-upset by beating National League South side Concord Rangers on penalties. The game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes and then 2-2 after extra time, sending the match to spot kicks. Tosan Popo missed Concord's first spot kick with Stevenage perfect from 12 yards, sending them into the hat for tonight's Second Round draw.

There was no match for Jaakko Oksanen and AFC Wimbledon with The Dons shutting down on Saturday following a number of positive COVID-19 cases. Their tie away at Barrow was postponed as is Saturday's upcoming game against Wigan Athletic.

Jan Žambůrek wasn't given permission to play as Shrewsbury Town won 2-0 away at Cambridge United on Saturday; The Shrews netting twice after the break to progress. Luke Racic and Northampton Town are in action tonight, away at National League South side Oxford City.

In the Premier League, Said Benrahma had an eventful 18 minute cameo off the bench against Fulham at The London Stadium. The winger set up Tomáš Souček for The Hammers' injury-time opener before then giving away a 97th minute penalty for a foul on Tom Cairney; Ademola Lookman chipping the resulting effort straight into the arms of Łukasz Fabiański.

In Europe, Halil Dervişoğlu came off the bench for the final four minutes of FC Twente's 4-2 win over Den Haag in the Eredivisie. Joel Valencia played the first-half of Legia Warsaw's 2-1 home win over Lech Poznan, Legia coming from behind to net a 93rd minute winner and move up to second in the Ekstraklasa.

Patrik Gunnarsson helped Viborg FF to a point away at FC Fredericia in the Nordic Bet Liga. VFF took an early lead through Sebastian Gronning but Fredericia, who had former Bees Justin Shaibu and Christian Tue Jensen in their line-up, scored a stunning equaliser just past the hour.
