England got the 2022 UEFA Women’s European Championships off to the best possible start last night and attention will soon turn to our stadium as it plays host to crucial matches.
The tournament kicked off last night, Wednesday 6 July, as England beat Austria at Old Trafford.
The event will run until Sunday 31 July and our home will be the venue for four key games.
Brentford is the primary London venue for the tournament, which sees 16 teams compete for the trophy.
We host Denmark’s opening game against Germany tomorrow, Friday 8 July, at 8pm, and three more games in Group B, which also includes Spain and Finland, being played at our stadium. There is also a Quarter-Final in Brentford later this month.
All 16 teams are aiming to reach the final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 31 July. Tickets for the final, and many other games, are sold out as more than 500,000 tickets have been bought for the tournament. This is a record for the tournament and more than double the last event, held in the Netherlands in 2017.
The tickets already sold have been purchased from 99 countries, with 20 per cent of ticket purchases coming from outside England. This includes the other 15 participating national associations and also from fans in North America, China, and Australia. But there is still a chance to join in.
There are still tickets on sale for many of the matches in the tournament, priced from £5-£50.
This is your chance to be part of the action at UEFA Women’s EURO 2022. Any tickets that become available, including for the knockout stage, will be released on the ticketing platform. Fans are encouraged to keep checking availability.
