Together with London United, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust held the first stage of the NHS United for London football tournament, for NHS key workers, to thank them for their incredible work throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Earlier this month, the Trust hosted a five-a-side football tournament at Gunnersbury Park for the hospital staff, as a thank you gesture for their hard work throughout the recent unprecedented times. Together with London United and other London based Football Clubs and Foundations, the event engaged with NHS staff from different hospitals such as West Middlesex, Chelsea and Imperial College Healthcare. The teams were competing for the opportunity to play against other regional winners across London in the grand final.

Mark Titcomb, Hospital Director at West Middlesex University Hospital: “A big shout out to Brentford FC Community Sports Trust for putting this morning on. I think everyone from West Mid and a few from Chelsea hospitals had a fabulous morning. The weather was perfect, and we all played in a really good spirit!”

Trust staff have delivered a wide range of activities and community programmes since the start of the pandemic. From online sessions for young people and adults to providing hundreds of activity packs and hot meals across the five boroughs in West London, BFCCST continues to provide a community and sports programme for all.
